Licences & Computer Limits

How many computers you can protect and what happens at the limit.

Each licence key protects one computer

A plan allows a certain number of computers. You receive one licence key per computer, and each key activates exactly one machine. This is what stops a single key being copied around an office.

  • Activating a computer with a key that is already in use elsewhere will be refused.
  • The computer limit comes from your plan and cannot be exceeded.
  • If you need more machines, upgrade your plan — you do not need to buy a separate licence for each attempt.

Reusing a seat for a new computer

If a computer is lost, sold, or decommissioned, block it in the dashboard. That releases its licence key so you can use it on the replacement machine. Until you do, the old machine keeps holding the key.

How to use it

Replace A Lost Computer
What it does
Freeing a licence key from a computer you no longer have.
Why you would use it
A lost laptop still holds its key, and that key cannot be used anywhere else until the old machine is released.
Where to find it
Dashboard → Computers → the machine → Block.
Step by step
  1. Open your Computers list and find the machine you are replacing.
  2. Open it and choose Block, giving a reason such as "laptop lost".
  3. The licence key is released and can now be used on the new computer.
  4. If the old machine turns up, it stays blocked until you unblock it.
