Two-Factor Authentication

Adding a second step to your sign-in, and what to do if you lose it.

Why turn it on

Your account can unblock computers and see evidence of what was copied from them. That makes it worth protecting properly. Two-factor authentication means a stolen password alone is not enough to get in — a second, time-limited code is also required.

How to set it up

It takes a minute, and you need access to the email on your account to receive the codes.

If you lose access

Contact your administrator or PremioGuard support. We can clear the two-factor setting on your account after confirming who you are, and you can then set it up again. We cannot bypass this check ourselves — nobody can, which is exactly why it protects you.

What it does not affect

Your managed computers do not use two-factor. They authenticate automatically with their licence, because they have to keep reporting in whether or not anyone is at the keyboard.

How to use it

Enable Two Factor
What it does
Adding a verification code to your sign-in.
Why you would use it
A password alone should not be enough to access an account that can unblock machines and read transferred files.
Where to find it
Dashboard → Profile → Security.
Step by step
  1. Open Profile and find the security section.
  2. Choose to enable two-factor authentication.
  3. Enter the code sent to your email address to confirm it works.
  4. From now on, signing in asks for a code as well as your password.
